About Longines HydroConquest Watches

The Longines HydroConquest was released in 2007, setting a high standard for diving watches. The HydroConquest is one part of the Longines sports lines, which also features the Conquest, the GrandVitesse, and the Admiral. The model plays a role in the company's goal to provide high-functionality sports watches to those who also require a sense of elegance.

Longines has a long history of sports and exploration-based watches. In 1899 the company equipped Prince Luigi Amedeo of Savoie with a watch for his Arctic expedition. Later, in 1919, the company was named the official supplier of the International Aeronautical Federation due to its incredibly precise navigation instruments.

It was 1954 Longines introduced its Conquest line, which emphasized the company's ties to the sports world. This model exudes a sporty elegance due to its incredible performance, precision, and durability. Considering the company's reputation, it was only natural for Longines to enter the underwater market with the HydroConquest diving watch.

The HydroConquest has high technological and aesthetic standards, functioning both as a water-based watch and as a stunning timepiece that can be worn to all formal occasions. The watch is water resistant up to 300 meters and allows for optimal diving safety by guaranteeing the bezel's continuous underwater visibility. Both the hands and indices are coated in Super-LumiNova, making the watch completely legible regardless of the availability of light.

The bold Arabic numerals in black, blue, or cream also enhance the piece's legibility. In addition, some of the chronograph features are made more visible through the use of red paint. The ceramic bezel is a particularly unique feature, guarding the watch against scratches while retaining an unmistakable elegance. The sapphire on the watch is also scratch resistant.

The diver does not need to worry about the watch staying securely on the wrist because of the double security clasp, which also includes a double diving extension for optimal comfort. It's available in either 39mm or 41mm with both quartz or automatic movements. The automatic HydroQuest Chronograph automatic uses an L688 movement that was developed only for Longines by the ETA.

In July of 2018, Longines introduced a collection of HydroConquest watches specifically for the U.S. based market. The collection featured 1,000 pieces all with "USA" printed on the bottom, a number 50 (in reference to the 50 U.S. states) in the upper corner, and an American flag engraved on the back.

In April 2019 Longines released an all-ceramic version of the HydroConquest. The model is made of exclusive black ceramic with the chemical composition displayed on the dial (Zr02). The material adds to the athletic appeal of the watch, increasing its bold, sporty appearance with the use of various aesthetic elements. The 2019 model features a matte dial and a polished case, as well as a satin bezel.

The HydroConquest was created with intense attention to detail, proven by its robust capability and elegant appearance. It is these features that make the watch one of the most popular dive watches currently available.
